How Lead Scoring Works: "Lead Temperature"
Our lead scoring system is designed to answer one simple question: "Which lead should I focus on right now?"
We call this metric Lead Temperature. A high score means a lead is "Hot" and requires immediate attention. A low score means they are "Cold" and can be archived or left in an automated follow-up.
Lead Temperature Bands
Icon | Temperature | Score Range | Meaning & Action |
---|---|---|---|
🔥 | Hot | 80 - 100 | High Priority. This lead is new or has recently taken a significant action. Your Goal: Engage personally within 24-48 hours. |
🌡️ | Warm | 50 - 79 | Medium Priority. This lead is inactive. Your Goal: Nurture them with the "Follow-up Funnel". |
❄️ | Cold | 0 - 49 | Low Priority. This lead has been inactive for a long time. No manual action needed. |
How Scores Are Automatically Assigned
The system automatically assigns a score when a lead enters a new stage, reflecting their peak interest at that moment.
Stage / Action | New Score | Temperature |
---|---|---|
New Lead Inquires (Contact Form) | 75 | Hot 🔥 |
You Send the Evaluation Form | 85 | Hot 🔥 |
Lead Submits Evaluation Form | 95 | Peak Hot 🔥 |
Meet & Greet is Scheduled/Completed | 90 | Hot 🔥 |
You enroll them in the Follow-up Funnel | 60 | Warm 🌡️ |
How Leads Go "From Hot to Cold" (Automated Score Decay)
To keep the list fresh, the system automatically cools down inactive leads every night based on when they were last updated.
- Hot leads (score ≥ 80) lose 10 points after 7 days of inactivity.
- Warm leads (score ≥ 50) lose 5 points after **14 days** of inactivity.
This automation ensures that the leads with the highest scores are always the ones who are most recently engaged.
A Note on Archetype Scores: The detailed decimal score you see on a converted student's record (e.g., 12.59) comes from their evaluation form. Its purpose is to help you understand their learning style, not their sales temperature. The "Lead Temperature" score (0-100) is only used for managing active leads before they convert.
